I'm Abdullah Tülek, a physicist and optical engineer with over 15 years of experience working on lasers, electro-optics and advanced optical systems. Over the course of my career, I've worked on technologies ranging from laser rangefinders and designators to imaging systems, machine vision, optical architectures and advanced sensors. My background combines fundamental photonics research with hands-on engineering and system development. I started my career in physics research and earned a PhD from the University of Utah, with research focused on laser action in optical microcavities. Since then, I've spent much of my professional life turning complex optical and photonic technologies into real-world systems. I created Photonics Intel because I enjoy understanding how technology really works—not just what companies claim in a press release. Here, I write about photonics, lasers, electro-optics, sensors, imaging and advanced technologies, combining publicly available information with an engineering perspective. My goal is simple: Go beyond the headlines and understand the technology underneath.
